THE SPA

Spa Environment:  Our spa environment is one of tranquility and relaxation. When accommodation is booked at Maki-Saki self-catering apartment, the visitors will have full access to the spa facilities.  This includes the use of the jacuzzi, heated pool, braai facilities, and relaxation area.  Please arrange with the owners should you receive and entertain guests on the premises. 

 

  • Day visitors allowed by prior arrangement only due to the facility being operated as a Boutique Spa & also due to strict Covid-19 protocols.

  • The spa treatments are offered by New Age Skin and Beauty and separate bookings must be made for any spa treatments.

  • No children under the age of 10 years will be allowed in the jacuzzi and parental supervision is always requested in the spa area.

  • No drinking will be allowed in the jacuzzi and/or heated pool. (This is a safety precaution).

  • No jumping into the pool and/or jacuzzi.

  • No soaps are allowed in the jacuzzi.

 

No spa towels are provided to guests who pre-booked accommodation at the Maki-Saki self-catering apartment as the unit is already equipped with towels. 

The gas fireplace will be operated by the owners and will only operate at specific times.

It is the responsibility of the guests to ensure that the spa is always kept in a neat and clean condition. 

 

Guest should refrain from leaving wet towels and/or any belongings in the spa area whilst making use of the accommodation facility.

The facilities at the spa (jacuzzi, heated pool, boutique gym, braai area)  will be used at their own risk and the owners cannot be held liable for any injuries.   Guests will be held liable for any/all damage(s) to the property and equipment.   

The owners have the right to enter the spa area at any time.  This will in no way interfere with the accommodation unit booked by the guests. The owner of Maki-Saki cannot be held accountable for any accidents and/or theft. The right of admission strictly applies.

Guests must leave the facilities in the same condition it was entrusted to them.

Additional Cleaning services for the accommodation facility can be arranged on request at an additional cost of R250.00 per day. 

 

TREATMENTS

Spa Treatments: Reservations for spa treatments are subject to availability and must be made 24 hours before the time.  Reservations cannot be accepted as binding unless they are accompanied by a 50% deposit per person.

Payments:  Only cash and/or EFT payments will be accepted.  If booking for 2 people or more, we shall require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking. Full payment is required upon departure, in the event of an early departure, no refund or discount will be given. 

Health matters:  Our therapists will be completing a thorough consultation with you on your first visit. Please ensure full disclosure and honesty with regards to medical conditions, contraindications such as but not limited to high/low blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, heart conditions, surgery, pregnancy, epilepsy, muscle or joint injuries, osteoporosis, skin conditions, and allergies.

We recommend that you seek your doctor’s advice prior to treatments should you have any concerns about your medical condition. Our therapists are not medical doctors and as such cannot diagnose medical conditions. Therefore, our spa reserves the right to provide or deny services. We recommend that you drink sufficient water after your spa treatment to help accelerate the elimination of toxins.

Product use: Our Spa relies exclusively on the information provided by the manufacturers of the retail products. Information provided is from the product testing done and, in some cases, clinical trials by the ingredient/product manufacturers. Kindly note that all treatments are carried out at your own risk.  New Age Skin and Beauty cannot be held liable/responsible for any loss or injury to a person.

Refunds and returns:  Treatments, products, and packages are non-refundable, non-transferable, and may not be exchanged for other treatments.

For hygiene reasons products purchased may not be returned or exchanged.

Cancellations: Any appointment not canceled before 24 hours of the scheduled treatment will be charged in full because the treatment time would be specifically reserved for you.

 

Valuables:  New Age Skin & Beauty will not be held liable for any theft, damage, loss, injury, or misfortune that may occur while on our premises. It is recommended that you keep valuables such as jewels and mobile devices locked away at the accommodation facility.

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR CONCERN

Whilst everything may have changed, some things stay the same, and guests can rest assured that their safety remains our absolute priority.  Extensive COVID-19 protocols have been implemented at our establishment for the safety of both guests and staff alike.  We embrace the guidelines and hygiene policies of the World Health Organisation (WHO), the South African National Department of Health (NDoH), and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD).

 

The following protocols are mandatory according to Government regulations and will be strictly adhered to at Maki-Saki Self-Catering and Boutique Spa.

 

To protect our guests and staff and to prevent a potentially high-risk person from entering the establishment, guests are required to be screened on arrival, which includes:
 

  • Mandatory use of masks for all visitors/guests and staff entering the premises

  • Allowing their temperature to be scanned with a thermometer.
    If a guest’s temperature falls within the normal range and they do not show any symptoms they will be required to sanitise their hands and proceed to check-in. If a guest’s temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees Celsius and/or they have symptoms of the virus, they will not be allowed to check in and will be referred to a medical facility as specified by the NICD.

  • Complete and sign a questionnaire.

 

OUR HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

  • All staff have received training on COVID19 preventative measures and hygiene protocols

  • Staff are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with regulations, along with additional hygiene resources

  • Sanitising and disinfecting practices (over and above our normal stringent cleaning protocols) will apply to our facility.

 

Our Covid-19 guarantee provides you with the opportunity to 'bank' your booking for an alternative date, subject to availability.
